The short version
- Your resume is never stored. Ever.
- Rolewise never applies for jobs on your behalf.
- Your information is never sold or shared for marketing.
- No account is needed. You can even search with just a role, without uploading a resume.
- Rolewise is for people aged 18 or over.
What happens to your resume
When you search, your file is sent to the Rolewise server, its text is extracted in memory, and the file is discarded within the same request. It is never written to disk, a database, or the server logs. The extracted text is sent back to your browser and kept only in this browser tab's session storage, so you can tailor a resume without uploading again. It is deleted when you close the tab or press "Reset".
When you request a tailored resume, your browser sends the text once more. It is passed to the AI provider to produce the tailored resume and cover letter, the two Word files are returned to you, and no copy is kept.
Who else processes it
- AI provider (Anthropic, USA) — receives your resume text and the job ad only when you request a tailored resume, to generate it. Under its commercial API terms, inputs are not used to train its models. Data may be processed outside Australia.
- Job listings (Adzuna) — receives your search words, city and minimum salary. It does not receive your resume.
- Payments (Stripe) — handles your card and receipt details directly. Rolewise never sees your card number. Stripe keeps payment records as required by law.
- Hosting provider — Render (Render Services, Inc., USA), which runs the Rolewise server in Singapore. Requests pass through its servers but resumes are not stored there.
What is kept
Basic technical logs (time, page requested, error type) for security and fault-finding, without resume content, kept for up to 30 days. Payment records are held by Stripe, not by Rolewise. If you buy a bundle, your resume code and how many resumes you've used are stored with that payment at Stripe, and the code is remembered in your browser so you don't have to retype it; "Reset" removes it from your browser. Stripe already holds the email you paid with; a lower-case copy of it is added to that same Stripe payment so a lost code can be found however you type your email. If you ask for a lost code to be re-sent, the email you enter is used only for that lookup, and Stripe re-sends the receipt only to the address that paid. It is not kept anywhere else. If you arrived through an ad, post or partner link, that link's campaign label (for example "google-search") is saved with your payment at Stripe, so Rolewise can see which channels work; it contains nothing about you.
Your rights
Because no resume data is kept, there is nothing to retrieve or delete. For questions or complaints, contact hello@rolewise.com.au. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
