How it works
- Your resume is never stored. It's read in memory for your search and discarded.
- Rolewise never applies on your behalf. You stay in control of every application.
- Searching is free. A tailored resume with a matching cover letter is $4.99, or save with 3 for $11.99 or 5 for $17.99, each with a short application summary for online forms. How bundles work
- Applying for a government role? An APS-style pitch (statement of claims), written to your word limit from your resume, is $9.99.
Four steps
- Describe the job and add your resume. Type what you want in plain English, or open Advanced search to set salary, locations, work style and more. No resume handy? Type a role or company instead, but matches are then based on job-title words only, so a resume gives far more accurate results.
- See ranked matches. Each job shows the skills you match and the ones you're missing.
- Tailor for one job. Your existing resume is rewritten to fit that ad, with a matching cover letter, using only what's true in your resume.
- You apply. Download the Word files and apply on the employer's site. Rolewise never applies for you.
Every tailored resume also comes with a short application summary (100–250 words, your choice) for forms that ask "Tell us about yourself". For public service jobs, APS pitch on any job writes a pitch against the role's requirements in your word limit (300–1,000 words).
Narrow a search with operators
The search box (and the Role you're after box in Advanced search) understands the same kind of operators as Google Search. Use them to cut out noise, especially when searching without a resume.

- Combine them freely:
"registered nurse"ORmidwife-agencyafter:2026-10-01finds registered nurse or midwife roles posted since 1 October, without agency ads. - No space after the colon or minus sign.
-salesworks;- salessearches for the word "sales". - Words without an operator are searched and ranked as usual: a title containing all of them scores highest.
- Exact means exact.
"application support"won't match "Applications Support". Leave the quotes off for a looser search. - Operators that don't apply to job ads, such as
filetype:, or asite:for a source Rolewise doesn't search, are ignored and a note says so above the results. - The operators in use are listed above the results, so it's always clear why a job is or isn't shown.
Tip: operators narrow the list, but they can't judge skills. For the most accurate ranking, upload a resume as well.
Applying for several jobs? Use a bundle
- Pick a bundle. On any job, click Tailor resume + cover letter and choose 1 job ($4.99), 3 jobs ($11.99) or 5 jobs ($17.99).
- Pay once, get a code. After payment a code like
RW-7KQ2-M9XDappears on screen and on your emailed receipt. - Tailor more jobs with no extra payment. Click Tailor on the next job. On the same browser the code is used automatically. On another device, open Have a code? and type it in.
Each job in a bundle gets its own tailored resume and cover letter. Codes last 90 days. Lost the code? Use Email the code in the same box to resend the receipt.
Search in plain English
Type the job you want the way you'd say it. Rolewise picks out the role, place, distance, pay and work style, shows what it understood under the box, and fills in Advanced search to match, so you can check or change anything.

It understands: places and postcodes (in, near, around), distance (within 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 km), yearly pay (a range, over, under or up to), work from home / hybrid / office, permanent / contract, full or part time, an employer after "at", and "in-house only". Anything else is treated as the job you're after. Hourly rates aren't used, as the salary filter is per year.
